December 17th, 2010: Congress extends tax incentives for new Energy Efficient Homes. H.R. 4853 extends tax credits for new energy efficient homes retroactively from January 2010 to the end of 2011. This extension effectively extends the EPACT tax credits for builders for another two year period.
January 26, 2010 Bottom Plate leakage:
Unfortunately closed cell foam in the wall cavities was no match for wood shrinkage. This is a good reason to use adhesive between the bottom plate and the floor decking.
